The Etrop Grange Airport Hotel is, as its name suggests, a country house property situated very close to Manchester Airport. Lovingly restored, the building dates from 1780 and features a characteristic red brick and white stucco façade. Inside, the luxury, character and sheer elegance of the Georgian era are evident in every feature. The 64 individually furnished en suite guestrooms reflect this period charm and are named after Cheshire villages. The majority have brass or four-poster beds and a selection have a Jacuzzi bath. The hotel’s Coach House Restaurant is light, airy and newly decorated in a contemporary yet classical style, suitable for business lunches and celebrations alike. Its new, improved à la carte menu means that guests can be tempted by delicacies such as roast loin of venison with red cabbage, fondant potato and bitter chocolate sauce or local braised lamb, with potato galette. There’s also a lounge bar, which offers a calm place in which to enjoy a pre-dinner drink or an after dinner nightcap.
